I have thoroughly enjoyed spending more time photographing families this year and this shoot was no exception. Michelle and Martin booked in their family shoot ahead of their wedding next February so it was a perfect opportunity to get to know the whole family a little better. The girls were slightly older than those I typically photograph but they rocked their session, as did Basil the frenchie and I am so pleased with how natural the images are.
We went to one of my favourite locations - Porthkerry Park in Barry. It's a bit of a hidden treasure as so many people don't realise it exists. There's a pebble beach, an old viaduct, plenty of walks through the woods as well as a play park and a cafe - the perfect family day out. If you haven't been yet, you really must go - it's beautiful!
The family explored the different parts as I followed them around while they picked berries, chased butterflies and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I am so pleased to have had this opportunity - not only will they all be more relaxed with me at their wedding, knowing how I work etc, but they have some fabulous photos to enjoy. As Basil and the girls grow older, I know they will become even more cherished than they are today.
