{Wedding} Maria & Nick, Sugar Loaf Barn

So before I start with this one, I was not the official wedding photographer.  Instead I was honoured to be playing the much more privileged role of bridesmaid for my wonderful friend Maria. I couldn't resist taking my camera along though for a few informal snaps when I (or my husband Rick) had the chance.  (I'd seen the dress, I knew she was going to look sensational!) Not one to ever want to steal anyone's thunder, least of all a fellow photographer, I mounted my nifty fifty lens as this is extremely versatile, whilst being the least imposing.

It was an emotional day!  I always get massively drawn in to my client's stories and feelings on the day, but this was an entirely different ball game.  Knowing that my best friend had found her Prince Charming filled me with so much happiness for her.  The morning preparations went calmly and smoothly and we were well on track time wise.  Unfortunately, heavy traffic and road closures had other ideas.  We arrived at the exquisite Sugar Loaf Barn in Abergavenny with the registrars about to leave! Thankfully they agreed to stay and Nick and Maria were declared married.  It was time to celebrate!

The Sugar Loaf Barn is such an amazing venue in so many ways.  It is entirely exclusive use and literally in the middle of nowhere.  You have access to the barn for a few days before and after so you can truly make it your own.  With the help of their families and friends, Nick and Maria nailed it.  From the flower arrangements lovingly made by Maria's mum to the place settings, bunting etc, there was a whole manner of decorations.  The Sugar Loaf Barn also allows you to bring your own alcohol and external caterers, has a fire pit for when it gets cold in the evenings and best of all, comes with it's own four bedroom cottage with hot tub.  It is so beautiful, we couldn't help take pictures (and yes, you will find I've sneaked in some of me below that were either taken by Rick or my dad).

The ceremony's hay bale seating became a great source of entertainment in the evening.  The couple partied well into the night, helped by the Twmpath provided by Jac y Do.  This wedding was the epitome of the coming together of two families.  The Mosses and Treadwells are now one and I can't wait to see what excitement their future brings.
