{Wedding} Aimee & Alan | Barn at Brynich

Aimme and Alan were married in May at a little known venue: Barn at Brynich, which is situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. They had been planning their wedding for over a year and had put so much thought and consideration into all the little details that make every wedding unique.  Having recently seen them for their pre-wedding shoot (read about that here), I knew that they were very relaxed and wanted this reflected in their wedding photography.

One of the many great things about this wonderful all-in-one-venue is that is has onsite accommodation in the form of several cottages, making it perfect for the entire bridal party and their immediate families to stay on site for the whole weekend.  Better still, as Aimee and Alan would be getting ready in the same place (without seeing each other) it meant that I could get some groom prep photos as well as the bridal prep which I cover as standard.

Despite being so calm in their approaches before the big day, on the morning of the wedding it was clear that they were both more nervous than they'd like us to believe.   The best man, Jason, did a brilliant job of keeping the groom calm and surprised him with one of the most thoughtful groom gifts I've seen.  Jason had hand crafted a wooden box for Alan, complete with all the things he needed to prepare him for his wedding day.

The barn itself is a wonderful room with plenty of space for all the personalised details the couple had put together.  One feature that I absolutely loved was the fact that the couple had decided to have an unplugged ceremony, meaning that Aimee saw faces as she walked down the aisle rather than phones and iPads facing her.

The ceremony was an emotional one as the nerves that had built up throughout the morning were realised.  The couple said their vows in front of their closest friends and family and were declared husband and wife.

For the rest of the day guests mingled and relaxed as they were serenaded by guitarist and singer Pat McIntyre.  The rain that had drizzled prior to the ceremony and was replaced by sun clouds so we made the most of being able to take pictures outside.

The couple were joined, as they were on their engagement shoot, by their 'baby', Dexter.  He was impeccably behaved and the bride and groom were thrilled for him to be part of their wedding photography.  They then began their fist dance to the sound of Ed Sheeran's Tenerife Sea.
