Whenever I meet with a couple prior to their wedding I always get butterflies of anticipation, hoping they'll book, especially if I feel like we have connected. Grace was no different and I felt like I understood her vision from the beginning. From the way she spoke about her fairytale dress to the gorgeous venue they had chosen, I knew I needed to be the photographer for their wedding and so I was ecstatic when when they booked.
Upon arriving at their fantastic venue I was delighted to see that the purpose built wedding venue had acted on customer feedback by building several lodges and apartments for couples and their guests to stay. Grace and her bridesmaids got ready in their beautiful lodge overlooking the lake where they could see their excited guests arriving.
I was joined by fellow photographer Cat Sutherland for the first half of the day who helped me capture even more photos and angles than I usually could on my own. We were both soon wowed by Grace's dress - it definitely lived up to expectations! In fact, since posting the sneak peeks on my Facebook Page, it quickly became known as the wedding with THE DRESS! Not only was it perfect, but it complemented Grace perfectly and suited her down to the ground.
Joe, one of the most nervous grooms I've known, became completely at ease as soon as he was declared married to his soulmate. The pair spent the rest of the day in their own blissful bubble.
Canada Lodge was the most superb venue and has everything you could possibly need. As a wedding photographer, it really was a brilliant venue to photograph and I would recommend it to any couples still looking for their wedding location.
