I remember being drawn to Carrie before she was even engaged as she was a wedding guest at a wedding I'd previously photographed. I was thrilled when she became engaged and got in touch to ask me to photograph her wedding. With our children both the same ages, we bonded instantly and by the time her wedding day came, she felt like a friend (queue even more emotional tears than usual from me hiding behind my lens!)
Most people that know me know that I'm a sucker for sunflowers, so Carrie & Stuart's wedding was right up my street! Bridal prep was filled with beautiful little details, and special moments between the bride and her lovely little girl.
The ceremony was held at a new venue for me - Llanhilleth Miners Institute. I never realised they held weddings but it really is a great venue with ample space for the wedding breakfast. Afterwards we headed to the lakes up in Abertillery for some beautiful images of the couple, where the autumnal colours were proudly on display.
A visit from magician Jason Thomas delighted all the guests before the party started with a bang... literally, they had a fantastic confetti canon explode during their first dance!
