As soon as I heard about this wedding I knew I just had to be the one to photograph it! Not only was the reception venue Bryn Meadows, where Rick and I had our wedding reception, but the ceremony venue, Castell Coch, was where we got engaged. Before I had even met Louise and Andrew, I was already emotionally invested in their special day and so I was made up when they picked me for the job.
A wedding at Castell Coch is such a special privilege as numbers are so limited in the ceremony roo, and as usual, I was given the best seat in the house! Louise got ready at her mum's house with her beautiful daughter. They were both so calm, but a delivery from the Cottage Garden Florist stirred up all the excitement when Louise saw how beautiful her bouquet was. The rings were fabulously handmade by Andrew himself!
Just a week before the wedding, Louise wasn't sure if her dad was going to be able to walk her down the aisle, or even attend the wedding due to ill health. It was a struggle not to bawl my eyes out when I saw the proud look on his face as he gave his daughter away to her best friend and soul mate, Andrew.
After some lovely pictures in the castle we made our way to the reception venue. The rest of the day was super relaxed, exactly how they had wanted it. There was snow confetti, quizzes and the most incredible Krispy Kreme Donut tower! I'm not quite sure how I managed to not devour the whole lot, they looked delicious.
After a super chilled afternoon, the disco really got the party started in the evening, where they were joined by lots more of their friends for a big dance off. I am so pleased I was able to photograph this lovely couple and their wonderful families and wish them a lifetime of happiness now they have finally found each other xx
