{Engagement} Aimee & Alan

I first met with Aimee and Alan after I photographed a wedding of their friend, just over a year ago. From the moment they welcomed me into their home, I could tell that they were a brilliantly relaxed, fun couple that will no doubt have one awesome wedding. They will be getting married in June at Barn at Brynich, a 17th century hay barn set in the heart of Brecon Beacons National Park.

We decided to have a pre wedding shoot in an area that holds special value to them – Goytre Wharf, also situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park. This is an area they frequent regularly with their treasured dog, Dexter, who will be an important part of their big day. We met on a crisp Sunday morning for a nice stroll, where, after hearing all about their wedding plans, we started to take some pictures.

The couple wanted very natural photographs with limited posing, which is exactly what I aim to achieve on the day. No need for forced smiles, the pair just chatted and enjoyed being in each other’s company. Having never been there before, I was amazed at how beautiful the surroundings were. Aimee and Alan showed me their regular route across the canal and then back up through the woods where we spotted some fresh bluebells.

Even though I am so lucky in witnessing so many amazing weddings, I genuinely can't wait to be part of this one. With a real emphasis on bringing together close friends and family, Aimee and Alan's relaxed special day promises to be full of happiness, love and laughter: the perfect combination.
